A portrait is the essence of a person or an artistic idea distilled down into a single frame. With that in mind I always aim to capture what makes people unique when I take their photo. A portrait is posed, but sometimes a quick snap of the shutter at an unsuspecting moment can offer more insight into what makes a person beautiful than a complicated light setup ever could.
Working with models is something that I got into late after a few years of doing photography professionally. Since then, I've enjoyed every shoot I've done working with models.
No matter the project, and no matter the experience level of the model, I always have a great time working with human subjects. It's always my goal to work with the models to create something cool and exciting.
Engagements are a special time for couple. In the months leading up to a couple's big day an engagement photo shoot can be a great way for me to capture what makes future spouses special to one another. An engagement photo shoot offers a chance to glimpse the couple in a relaxed and loving environment, and on a more personal level with one another.

The importance of a wedding day goes without saying. I'm always very pleased to hear from a couple that they're glad they decided to get photos of their wedding day. Everything on the big day can be such a blur, it's nice to be able to capture some of the special moments that can slip through the cracks of memory while we're focusing our attention elsewhere.
Event photography is nothing if not varied. Whether it's a rap concert, a graduation, a gala dinner, a 100th birthday, or a cultural celebration I always seem to find myself taking photos in some really interesting places. The best part of event photography is absorbing the atmosphere and translating that into photos. That way when it's all over you'll have something to look back on that will spark that memory again.
To travel the world, to experience another culture, and to expand your world are some of the most important things you can do in your life.
Travelling and the beauty of nature are the most important things in the world to me. I love diving head first into new adventures and seeing all the amazing things this world has to offer.
Photographing buildings and cities is something that I've only recently gotten in to. On it's face, you might think it's a piece of cake. Point the camera and take a photograph of that building. But beyond the problems with pinning down the geometry of different architecture in a photo, there's also a problem (at least I faced it as a problem) of how to tell the story. What do I want the image to convey? That this building is pretty cool? Or is there a way for me to take the opportunity to offer an entirely new perceptive of something you might see ever day?
